CARTS "Richard Moya" Eastside Bus Plaza
Project Details
The Richard Moya Eastside Bus Plaza, on east Cesar Chavez in Austin, is a robust transit facility servicing city busses and CARTS transportation services. The circular building provides space for a waiting area, ticketing, and concessions. The red sandstone exterior is supported by steel structure and reclaimed wood columns, and features several large canopies to maximize shade around the building. A large clocktower anchors the triangular-shaped lot and invites users down into the sunken gardens while they wait for transportation. The project obtained SITES certification.
