Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts
Project Details
The Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts is a downtown Amarillo landmark, providing a first-class venue for both orchestral and theatrical performances.
The undulating roof and layered masonry façade recall the shapes and colors of the nearby Palo Duro Canyon. The concrete structure for exterior columns, interior stairs, and walls is exposed and stained as an architectural finish. A singular, moveable orchestra shell allows the stage and fly loft to change from a tuned musical environment for symphonic performances to an open and flexible stage house for theatrical events.
